Nathan and Ashley met shortly after she moved to Augusta to start a new chapter in her life. At the time neither of them were looking for a relationship, but they had an instant connection and would share everything with each other. It wasn’t very long before they started dating and a few years later Nathan proposed on a beach in Tybee Island during the Fourth of July fireworks.
Their wedding has our hearts feeling all the warm, fuzzy feels we need right now. Ashley, was truly a sight to behold in her Calle Blanche gown, which she paired with loose curls and natural makeup. Dusty rose and burgundy were the perfect color palette against their sunset ceremony and reception under a tented sky. The couple personalized their ceremony with a Blessing of the Rings and Blessing of the Hands, which the bride explains below.
From the bride: During the ceremony, my ring was given to his family and his ring given to mine. The rings were passed from family member to family member and each person said a small prayer for our marriage before we said our vows and gave each other the rings. Another special moment we included was The Blessing of the Hands. Nathan's son, Reid, came and stood in between us while we held hands. He draped a three strand cord around us binding our hands together. The colored cords represented man, woman, and God. The minister then said a blessing over our hands, the hands that will build our future, comfort each other, give each other strength when we need it, and hold our family.
From the bride: My favorite part of our wedding day was sitting at the table when the reception first started and looking around at all the people we love most in the world who traveled to be there to celebrate our love. Everything was so beautiful with the table settings, the flowers, and white lights. It was so magical it brought me to tears.
